What is new in iTunes 11

Posted by Darwin Biler on November 30, 2012

Apple had just released the new version of iTunes. It is the central hub of all Apple Devices with many purpose like media player, digital store for movies, music and apps etc. Let me show you some notable difference on this new version.

New Design

The whole interface design had changed. The sidebar on the left is gone. The controls on the top has changed. Almost all borders were stripped out making the whole window occupy the whole screen.

Navigation

Since the sidebar was removed, the navigation is then moved to the upper part of the user interface just below the player controls. Some might find that this change is a little awkward since it made the sections a little hard to see on the first glance.

Album Player

When you open an album, there will be a section opened under it, listing all the songs for that album. You can then play any songs or shuffle it.

Mini Player

If you like listening to music while doing something else, you will surely love the mini-player feature. This feature allows you to switch iTunes to a small floating bar with media controls which you can drag around anywhere you want.

Up Next

What is "Up next?". Well let's say it is some form of temporary playlist, where you can line up music of your choice from any album. Then as each music is played, they are removed from that playlist. Not really that innovative feature but worth trying out.

Those among other features are the one that you might first notice upon downloading iTunes 11.
